Watermark for Kids is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that aims to create young leaders and empowers them to thrive. Back in October The Watermark at Trinity held a Bake Sale for Michelina, our Watermark for Kids nominee. Additional fundraising efforts were made such as making and selling pink ribbons for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and hosting a 50/50 raffle. In total, residents and family members raised $503.50!
At the end of November, Michelina came to the community to teach a Watermark University class about her organization called Floppies. After her presentation, Community Life Director, Christina, stood next to Michelina and offered a few surprises! Christina explained to Michelina about the other fundraising efforts the community had been involved in on her behalf and handed her all of the money the community raised. Michelina was so shocked and immediately thanked every resident in the crowd. Christina continued by making the announcement that Michelina had been selected to be Trinity’s Watermark Kid! Christina presented a giant check for $1,000 from the Watermark for Kids organization! Michelina’s mouth dropped open and she ran up to hug Christina. Michelina was truly excited and grateful for this opportunity. In fact, she invited the residents to accompany her to All Children’s Hospital to help deliver over $2,200 worth of toys! The toy delivery will take place on Friday, December 8th at 2:30pm.
The Watermark at Trinity wants to congratulate Michelina on surpassing her donation from last year as well as beating her own personal donation goal for this year! The residents at Trinity truly appreciate all of your hard work and absolutely adore you. Best wishes on your wonderful endeavor to help other children thrive!
